The Celebration of Excellence is an evening of fun and fundraising sponsored by the Gahanna-Jefferson Education Foundation and will be hosted at Villa Milano's on February 25, 2012. Our guests are encouraged to dress in your best denim and diamonds and enjoy a Hollywood extravaganza "LIGHTS - CAMERA - AUCTION" theme.
We have changed venues to Villa Milano's last year and were better able to accommodate our guests by having seating for everybody, provide more display area for auction items and allow all guests to be able to hear and see the auctioneer.
Local restaurants will again be providing hors d'oeuvres for the preview party and desserts that will complement a special menu prepared by Villa Milano's.
We anticipate having more than 500 live and silent auction items donated by area business partners and generous individuals.
Last year 450 people attended the sold-out event. A new record of more than $120,000 was generated to support the Gahanna-Jefferson Education Foundation in our effort to "Promote Excellence in Education."
This year NBC-4 reporter Monica Day will serve as our celebrity emcee, to promote our Foundation. The evening's events will include musical entertainment, a spirited live auction and the drawing for a great vacation package. We are optimistic that we will again have a sell-out crowd.
The plans include a special Preview Party starting at 5:30 PM for our corporate sponsors and bronze and silver patrons. Preview guests will be treated to special hors d'oeuvres and beverages as they have a chance to browse through the auction items.
Ample parking will be available, and all attendees will be welcome at 7:00 PM.
The Gahanna-Jefferson Education Foundation is committed to "Promote Excellence in Education" and has made a commitment to provide support through competitive educational grants.
We are currently conducting our 8th cycle of funding grants. Upon completion, GJEF will have funded more than 300 grants totaling in excess of $325,000. The grants support creative ideas submitted by staff and enhance the educational opportunities for our students.
GJEF has also allocated funds in our Care for Kids program which allows district pupil services staff members to address special student needs.
Please be assured your continued support is needed and will be appreciated.
