Nine years ago, through the leadership of our School Business Advisory Council, a plan was put into place to create the Gahanna Jefferson Education Foundation (GJEF). Since that time, with the support of community leaders, civic groups, and district staff, the GJEF has grown into a viable entity engaged in supporting activities that “Promote Excellence” throughout the district.
This past February at our seventh Celebration of Excellence at Villa Milano's. A sell-out crowd enjoyed an evening of fun and fund raising, generating more than $120,000, our highest level of proceeds ever, to support GJEF efforts to "Promote Excellence."
More than 500 live and silent auction items were donated by our business and community partners, and we had many join in the bidding for our "Fund a Need" project.
This letter is to seek your participation in support of our 8th annual “Celebration of Excellence” as both a guest and as a donor of an item(s) to be included in the live and silent auction. Please be aware that all proceeds will be used to support the GJEF education grants of excellence program and building a financial base to support future Foundation activities.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, February 25, 2012, and will be held at Villa Milano's.
