Smartboard Technology at Jefferson Elementary
Gahanna Seniors (& the Red Hat ladies!) visited Jefferson Elementary and saw the music teacher, Leslie Twigg, using the SmartBoard interactively with her students, and Sarah Dove's 4th grade classroom for a model lesson in literacy using the SmartBoard.
Laptop Classroom Project
The GJEF Board approved a $22,000 request made by Mark White and Dwight Carter to fund a pilot “paperless” classroom as we look to the future in delivering online educational opportunities for our students.
Emily Straub will have two English II classes engaged in the pilot second semester. We will all be interested to see the results of the surveys and various evaluative methods to measure the success and effectiveness of the project.
Supporting the grant fits well into the GJEF commitment to “Promote Excellence.”

GMSW ED students "Bikes for Tikes" bike fix-up project.
This year we also entered into a collaborative effort with Officer Kim Hare from the Gahanna Police Department to fix up donated bikes for needy Gahanna elementary students. This grant allowed us to buy supplies for this project.
